Why Electric Scooters Are Good For Every Age
Electric scooters are economical, two-wheeled beauties with steering, a footplate, lights, battery, brakes, optional seats, and a small electric motor.
The popularity of e-scooters has exploded over the past couple of years as a convenient and fun alternative to using public transport for short journeys. They are also useful to fold away in the boot of your car to take with you for family days out. E-scooters with seats are an excellent option for older adults, children and people with medical conditions that need to rest frequently without slowing the rest of the family down while of a day out with the family.
E-scooters are exactly the same as regular scooters, except they have a rechargeable battery that powers the scooter. They can be charged at home and conveniently folded and stored away when not in use, and take up very little space.
Currently, e-scooters sales are turning the traffic industry upside down and giving cars and buses a run for their money. Legislation is also changing in Ireland with a new Road Traffic Bill, which will allow e-scooters on Irish roads for the first time. The likelihood is Irish electric scooter legislation will mirror that of other European countries. Currently, you cannot use e-scooters on public roads, but it is thought that it won’t be long before the UK adopts similar legislation to allow e-scooter use on public roads, especially with increasing pressure on the Government to adopt more green transport options.
Increasing fuel prices will also encourage more motorists to look for a cheaper, more environmentally friendly mode of transport for short journeys. Those living in towns and cities can expect to cut their commuting time and help to improve the air quality simultaneously by switching to an e-scooter.
