Are mobility scooters allowed in shops?

The answer to this is yes and no. While it is possible to use a mobility scooter inside of most major supermarkets, some smaller shops might struggle with larger turning circles.

Mobility scooters are a great way to get around if you have trouble walking. However, there is some confusion over whether or not they are allowed in shops.

Of course, it is always best to check with the store before you bring your mobility scooter inside. Each store has its own policy, and you don’t want to cause any problems. But overall, I think that mobility scooters are a great way to get around, and they should be allowed in shops.

Tesco

Whether you will be able to take your mobility scooter in store depends on the location. Some locations may not allow this, but many stores offer wheelchairs and mobility scooters for borrowing purposes so it is best just check first before going anywhere else.

Tesco is always looking for ways to help their customers feel more at ease while they are shopping. The latest idea that has come about as a result of this goal, the Sunflower lanyard tags which can be worn by anyone in order provide extra support when needed.

Aldi

The Aldi stores have been improving their layout and customer experience with Project Fresh. One improvement that was introduced is the widening of aisles, which will make it easier for shoppers to maneuver trolleys as well as wheelchairs or mobility scooters around all corners in your local store!

Morrisons

Morrisons, another grocery store that allows mobility scooters. They have many facilities to help people with disabilities and can hire a wheelchair or power chair from them as well!

Asda

Another great thing about shopping at Asda is that they allow wheelchairs and mobility scooters in store! Like the previous supermarkets mentioned, you’ll be able to find plenty of space for turning during your shop.

Sainsburys

Sainsbury’s is committed to making your life easier. They have at least one wheelchair available for hire per store, and they also provide mobility scooters that you can borrow if needed in selected areas of each location.

M&S

For years, M&S has been an accessibility leader with its well-designed stores and helpful staff. But now they’re taking it one step further by providing access guides for disabled people located all over the country! These handy digital tools give you everything from lighting levels in each store to how many car parking spaces are available near your location. Use Store locator on M&S website to find the details.

Lidl

LIDL’s lack of basic accessibility aids is an overlooked issue that goes unnoticed by most shoppers. With more companies providing mobility equipment in store, it will be difficult for Lidl UK to compete with their competitors if they do not make adjustments soon enough!
