Are tandem 2 seater mobility scooters legal in the UK?
According to the Department for Transport: Tandem mobility scooters cannot legally be used on pavements or roads in Britain (as you would other mobility scooters). In law, a mobility scooter and a powered wheelchair are both considered to be an ‘invalid carriage’, defined under the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970. You would need to register and insure the scooter. Driving license would be required: class AM (from 16 years) including the following FS-classes A, A1, S, M.
